Global Acquisition Finance's directive is to originate, structure and arrange acquisition debt facilities in support of key clients from the private equity community. The business has a substantial loan book of >€6.0bn comprising of over 250 assets sourced across a variety of sectors and jurisdictions.

We have over 25 years' experience operating in the market and is one of the most active Lead Arrangers in Europe and the US, supported by a dedicated Portfolio Management team in Dublin with full responsibility for all aspects of relationship management of the European book post-closing.

Purpose of the Role

We are now looking for an Associate to join the London-based UK Acquisition Finance team. The successful candidate will be involved in day-to-day credit management of new business proposals involving the preparation of detailed credit applications, the review and interpretation of third party due diligence reports, the creation and review of financial models, and general risk management.

Key Accountabilities
  • Review, interpret and challenge third party due diligence reports;
  • Ownership of financial modelling pertaining to a transaction;
  • Assist senior deal team members to prepare the credit application including credit paper, financial model and other supporting documentation;
  • Support a regulatory and compliance culture and ensuring all requirements are met at all times;
  • Proactive networking and relationship building with internal and external partners (such as advisors and targeted private equity firms);
  • Represent the Bank at customer and advisor meetings.

Essential Qualifications

Graduate or other relevant professional qualification.

Essential Skills & Experience
  • Post-graduate finance / banking / credit experience preferably in a Leveraged Finance context;
  • Strong Excel and financial modelling skills;
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting / interpretation of accounts;
  • Exposure to credit risk evaluation;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
