Once you apply for a job, your application goes straight to the employer’s email. They will then contact you in response to your vacancy.
To increase your job matches and enhance your chances of getting a job, it is crucial to be somewhat generic with your job requirements. Ensure that your CV is well written and up-to-date. Respond to all your offers to increase your chances of being invited to an interview.
Once you have secured an interview, do your research on the company (what is their mission and vision for the future, what do they stand for, their ethics, etc). The best place to find this information is in their most recent annual report, if it is a corporation, which can be found online. Otherwise, visit the comapnany's website and read their ‘about us’ page. After your research, you should be ready with answers, as they will ask you during the interview, most likely. Preparation is crucial to being successful in your job application.

Normally, you cannot track a job application process. If you make an online application, you will normally receive a confirmation email informing you that your application has been received. The email is normally automated so there is no need to reply in most cases. The confirmation email will normally mention something along these lines: “Dear Applicant, Thank you for your interest in a career at StudentJob. We have received your application for the online marketing intern position. We will review your application and get back to you as soon as possible. Please note that because of the high number of applications we will only reply to those who will be shortlisted.”
If they don't get back to you, then that might mean that you weren't successful this time or they had so many candidates applying to the postion that they didn't notice your application. Don't give up!
